This image shows the Lions' Club chicken dinner fundraiser being set up at Dune Alpin Farm. Dune Alpin was used for several of the early chicken dinners. Abe Katz is pictured here with the dinners cooking in the background, standing next to a woman who may be from the L.V.I.S., since they often partnered with the Lions Club for the fundraiser. Many of the other color photos were taken around 1972 as part of preparation for selling or developing the farm, but this image was taken slightly before and it appeared in the East Hampton Star. Abe Katz operated Dune Alpin Farm as a dairy for over 40 years. The image was provided to the Long Island Collection for scanning from the family of Abe Katz as part of a collection of materials related to Katz and the family. The photographer is unknown, although it is possible it was Abe Katz. Katz or his family was responsible for collecting and saving the photographs.
