This framed sign on the wall lists the first 12 Lords of the Manor of Gardiner's Island, beginning with Lion Gardiner and ending with John Lyon Gardiner in 1889. Presumably this image is hanging on the wall in one of Robert Gardinere's houses. The image is part of a collection of photographs taken by a tour group guided through Gardiner Family sites by Robert D. L. Gardiner. It is not clear whether the image was taken in his home on Gardiner's Island or on Main Street in East Hampton.
