Original bookplate etching for Maude Sherwood Jewett, mother of John H. Jewett, of their home in East Hampton, N.Y., and her studio the "Inkpot," by John H. Jewett. The house was located on Apaquogue Road. There is no known date for this image, but John Howard Jewett's obituary indicates he started sketching during the Depression, and a similar image drawn by John Howard Jewett is dated 1933.
