This bookplate was based on the photograph on page six of the Bunyard Album of Maidstone, which is included in this object. The bookplate was drawn from the images of Maidstone that the East Hampton Star claims early library donors, such as the Woodhouse Family and the Gardiner Family, provided. George Wharton Edwards is credited as the author of this design. The image used was a photograph in the Bunyard Photo Album showing All Saints Church, Palace & College in Maidstone. The image is page 06 in the album, which is included with this item for reference.
