This image shows a group of bagpipers in kilts marching in a parade. A man holding a rifle is visible in the foreground of the image. This photo was likely taken on Main Street in Amagansett, and a white Volvo sedan is parked on the side of the road. A similar photograph including others from the same veterans group as the man with the rifle appears in photo 2005.1.1203, which has a date of June 08 1996 stamped on the photograph. That date coincided with a Suffolk County American Legions event that brought veterans from all over Suffolk County to Main Street, Amagansett for a parade and gun salutes on Main Street. This group was probably an American Legion pipe and drums unit. This photograph was either taken or collected by Amagansett historian and librarian Carleton Kelsey.
