This image was scanned from the files of the Springs Historical Society/Library. This is a copy of a portrait of John Lyon Gardiner, 1770-1816. John Lyon Gardiner was the 7th Proprietor of Gardiner's Island. A similar portrait of his wife, Sarah Griswold Gardiner also appears. The portrait can be estimated based on John Lyon's appearance and early death date, c. 1790-1816.
