This image was scanned from the files of the Springs Historical Society/Library. A date is approximated based on the photo technology used. This would have been at least some of the housing for the people enslaved by the Gardiner Family on Gardiner's Island. Accounts indicate the Gardiner Family enslaved people from both African heritage and Native American heritage.
