Description

This book contains the text of two speeches Rufus King, a representative Queens, gave on the Missouri Compromise, which was the legislation that brought Maine and Missouri territories into the Union as states. The Missiouri Compromise worked to find a balance between slaveholding and "free" states that did not allow slavery.
