In his History Project, Inc. oral history, Bruce Collins told interviewer Tony Prohaska that he piloted the steamer Shinnecock out of Amagansett for Jack Edwards from 1954 until 1960. That time range is used to date this image. Bruce Collins captioned this image, "The oldest boats in the company's fleet are wooden some of which are shown here at the shipyard in Greenport, N.Y." The company would refer to the fish factory.
