In his History Project, Inc. oral history, Bruce Collins told interviewer Tony Prohaska that he piloted the steamer Shinnecock out of Amagansett for Jack Edwards from 1954 until 1960. That time range is used to date this image. Bruce Collins captioned this image," The topline of the net has been secured to the side of the ship, the pump has been placed overboard (note suction house) and the crew is taking in the net to cause the fish to be sucked up on board the ship."
