These are presumably other fishing boats based out of Tangier Island, based on the style of the boats and other photos of the bunker fishing boats used at Promised Land. Elsewhere in these photos, Bruce Collins explained that the bunker boats from Promised Land fish factory often went south for the winter for repairs near Tangier Island and Reedville, Virginia, or down to North Carolina and Florida to pursue other kinds of fish. In his History Project, Inc. oral history, Bruce Collins told interviewer Tony Prohaska that he piloted the steamer Shinnecock out of Amagansett for Jack Edwards from 1954 until 1960.
