A collection of loose documents in Book 4, held by the Town of East Hampton. The documents include communications from Thomas Dongan, Governor of the Colony of New York. Also included are town meeting minutes & expenditures, the records of lands surveyed by the town's "Layers out of Land" (land surveyors), a whaling contract, and issues related to livestock on the Montauk Peninsula. The documents cover a range of topics relating to town government, including property records, taxation, administration of the Township.
