Description

This is a speech or presentation Averill D. Geus gave to The Ramblers around the time of the Bicentennial regarding the places and nature of East Hampton in 1776. A date can be estimated in part due to the topic and also due to the lifespans of the people referenced in attendance and assisting with the presentation, which include Amy Osborn Bassford, who died in 1977. Geus provides a bibliography and attempts to identify the 1970s stores and locations that exist where Revolutionary Era places once stood.
