"Farm Booth" at the Ladies Village Improvement Society (LVIS) Fair in East Hampton, New York. The Fair took place on the Village Green on July 22, 1915.
Pictured left to right, according to the caption on the reverse: Marion Lawrence, Mrs. John C. Lawrence, Mrs. T.L. Manson, Mrs. Nathan H. Dayton, Barbara Van Rensellaer [sic], Mrs. Groot.
Marion Lawrence was the eight year old daughter of Phoebe A. Edwards Lawrence (Mrs. John Custis Lawrence). May Groot Manson, the wife of Thomas Lincoln Manson, appears here with her mother, Mrs. Ella Story Groot, and her granddaughter, Barbara Van Rensselaer. Barbara Van Rensselaer was seven in 1915, she was the daughter of Dorothea Manson Van Rensselaer and Kiliaen Van Rensselaer.
Mary L. Dayton, the wife of Nathan H. Dayton, was also on "Farm Booth" Committee, along with a Miss Chadwick who does not appear in pictures.
The "Farm Booth" had a circular shape and a thatched roof. It offered fresh eggs, butter, cream cheese, and poultry. A display of live animals was also part of the booth.
