A print of "Landscape and Sheep" by Charles Jacque, etched by James D. Smillie, copyrighted 1879. This image depicts a shepherd with a flock of sheep resting under a copse of trees. Jacque was a member of the French Barbizon School of landscape painting, which influenced American artists like Thomas Moran. Moran's work was reproduced and sold by gallerist Christian Klackner, from whose collection this print comes.
