This Bible belonged to the Crook family of Bridgehampton. In order to document their family history, the Crooks wrote down birth, death, and marriage dates. The oldest entry in the book documents the birth of Jude in 1702, meaning that several of the individuals documented were enslaved. It is known that some members of the Crook family, such as Drusilla, were enslaved by minister Lyman Beecher. This Bible also documents the genealogy of the Rugg family.
