Description
Contract in which Lewis and Nathan P. Howell purchase land from James and Mary Harley (who are elsewhere called "Harlow"), confirming the sale of 106 acres of land described as being in Sag Harbor, but which is in what is now North Haven, for $1,600. The parcel of land was surrounded by the lands of Charles W. Payne, Stephen Mitchell, Caleb Duvall and Thomas Hamilton. The land is referenced as adjoining Great Pond in Hog Neck. Also included in the sale is one quarter of the salt works formerly known as Crowell's Salt Works. The document was signed in the presence of John H. Dayton.
