Deposition of Reverend Thomas James, a frequent intermediary between Long Island Indians and settlers regarding land transactions; this deposition recites testimony of local Indian women providing account of pre-contact territorial acknowledgements between the Montauk and Shinnecock Tribes, in the Accabonac Harbor area of East Hampton Township, N.Y.
