Sale of messuage, consisting of a 5-acre parcel with house and barn, in East Hampton Township, N.Y., by Eli Hutchinson, yeoman, to Lyman Beecher, Minister of the Gospel and Pastor of the Church in East Hampton [N.Y., June 18, 1800. 5-acre messuage (dwelling house with land and outbuildings) for 400; bounded on the northeast by land of William Mulford, on the southeast and southwest by land of Nathaniel Huntting, and on the northwest by the Town Street; witnessed by Abraham Miller and William King. Deed was donated to the Town of East Hampton, N.Y. on the occasion of the 300th tercentenary celebration by Norman White, of Sugar Brook Farm, Central Village, Connecticut, a descendant of Lyman Beecher's second wife. Deed was found among family papers. White had his "dear friend" John Carrington Yates present it to the town (See handwritten correspondence following deed).
