This photo shows the grave of General Nathaniel Woodhull (1722-1776). Note
Woodhull was a leader in the New York Militia and the New York Provincial Congress. He was the brother-in-law of Declaration of Independence signer William Floyd. Woodhull died of wounds from an incident surrounding the Battle of Long Island where he allegedly was beaten because he refused to say "God Save the King."
