Broadside and photstat of original document: Sale of West Beach, in Southampton, N.Y., from Wyandanch, Sachem, to Lion Gardiner, Southampton, N.Y., June 10, 1658. Included all of beach from a point opposite Canoe Point and the Brookhaven town line, reserving right of commonage (seaweed gathering, livestock grazing, etc.) to proprietors of the Town of Southampton, but right of beached whale harvesting to remain with Wyandanch and Town of Southampton Indians, the Shinnecocks; was sale and annual quit claim arrangement.
