Caption on back of photograph reads: "At the time of his death on March 12, 1921, King Wyandank Pharoah was 57 years old and stood six feet four inches tall. The son of King David and Maria was born in a wigwam at Indian Field, Montauk point, on the old reservation. His boyhood was spent roaming the hunting grounds of the great peninsula that forms the southeast fluke of Long Island. He was well known in all of the towns on the eastern end of Long Island. After the death of his father, King David, he became the king of the Montauks. his brothers were Samuel Powhatan and Ebenezer Tecumseh. His sisters were Margaret Arabella and Sarah Pocahontas."
