This vellum covered book was the property of Reverend Nathaniel Huntting, the leader of the First Church of East Hampton, now the Presbyterian Church. Huntting served as minister from 1699-1746. The front cover has a printed date of October 9, 1688 which may have been added later. The first page bears a written date of December 15, 1688. The book contains notes of a religious nature and what appear to be sermons or drafts of sermons.
