This inventory describes the contents of Brinley Sylvester's home and his personal property around the time of his death. Brinley was a slave owner, and this inventory enumerates the enslaved people on his plantation, Sylvester Manor.
Brinley Sylvester, the grandson of immigrant Nathaniel Sylvester, reclaimed Sylvester Manor after his father died deeply in debt. He rebuilt the estate into a prosperous plantation.
