A 6 X 6 in. ceramic tile of a map of Long Island (artist unknown). In 1953, tile painting made a resurgence in East Hampton. The artist Maude S. Jewett, known best for her sculpture, asked nine artists to each paint a tile. The finished tiles were then placed in a table-top at the East Hampton Library. The table no longer exists, but the tiles still do.
