Copy of contract between Montauk Indians George Fowler, Maria Pharoah and Wyandanch Pharoah, and Arthur W. Benson, proprietor of Montauk Peninsula, N.Y., whereby said Indians are to receive a payment of $210.00, an annuity of $240.00, and 12 acres of land at Freetown, in East Hampton Township, N.Y., formerly known as the Kelly Land, for the construction of dwelling houses; in exchange, said Indians release all claims to Montauk Peninsula, N.Y., including their previous rights and privileges in the areas known as North Field Neck and the Indian Field, April 21, 1885.
