Caption on reverse reads: Parade of July 4, 1915. These ladies, gathered around a table, represent an old fashioned "Quilting Bee." From left to right: Edward H. Dayton (driver), Mrs. Hiram Sherrill, Mrs. Daniel Talmage, Mrs. Edward Dayton, Mrs. George Hand, Mrs. Nathan Dayton, (unknown), and sitting at the rear, beside the fireplace, with an old musket in hand, Henry L. Van Scoy. He was the father-in-law of E.H. Dayton (driver), and was no doubt, included in the group as one of East Hampton's interesting characters, having sailed around Cape Horn to seek his fortune in California after the discovery of gold in 1849. Copy by C. Frank Dayton.
