Caption on reverse reads: The old salt box, Hardscrabble Farm home on the Sag Harbor Road. Circa 1915, it was moved to the rear of the property, altered, and replaced by a new house. Much of the lumber for the new house was cut at the Pine Swamp saw mill, located just to the North of what used to be called "Two Holes Water," now known as "Chatfield's Hole." Copy by C.
