Caption on reverse reads: This building was the first garage of E. Vivian Parsons of Amagansett, who operated it for several years before it was destroyed by fire. It was here that his brother Ralph worked as an auto mechanic before leaving Amagansett, to sudy mechanical engineering. In later years he formed the Ralph M. Parsons Co. of Los Angeles, whose large engineering projects are known throughout the world. Work done by the company include various buildings in the United States, the airport in Panama, oil refineries both here and abroad, a large water pumping system in Taiwan, the Alaska oil pipeline and many others.
