The title of the painting is "Flag on the Mill-Ship in the Bay"-1847, Sag Harbor, New York. It is assumed that the piece is inspired by the time period of 1847 in Sag Harbor by the fact that the artist was not born until 1861. This painting came to the Long Island Collection as a digitization loan from the Sag Harbor First Presbyterian Church.
