Draft copy of contract between Montauk Indians and Arthur W. Benson, whereby said Indians retain certain rights and privileges in the areas of Montauk Peninsula, N.Y. known as North Field Neck and the Indian Field, an annuity of $240.00, the right to cut wood for fencing, and 12 acres of land at Freetown, in East Hampton Township, N.Y., formerly known as the Kelly Land, for the construction of dwelling houses; in exchange, said Indians release all claims to Montauk Peninsula, N.Y., 1885 [not signed or executed] n.d.
