One of a collection of 28 letters written by Henry Packer of Sag Harbor, N.Y., to Claudius Berard, teacher of French at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, 1820-1822. Letters found in brown paper envelope with the following inscription: "Letters to Claudius Berard from H.P. . Lodowick lived with C. B. when a boy at West Point."
