Caption on back of photograph reads: This is an interesting photo of four Shinnecock children taken around the early 1900's. The boy kneeling is Deforest Cuffee and boy behind him is his brother Cortland. They were the sons of Eugene Cuffee and Ida Beaman Cuffee of the Shinnecock tribe. The younger boy is still living and is one of the officials of the Shinnecock church.
