Letter relates recent farming activities of family in East Hampton Township, relates how William Hedges informed him that the Desdemona and her captain are temperate, and that he too follows the example; also gives advice, informs him of current price of whale oil in New York (letter similar to one written three days later, on July 8, 1835).
