Description
Letter from (Count) Benjamin (Thompson) Rumford to the editors of the Monthly Review, concerning criticism of his scientific experiments, Munich, Germany, June 6, 1805. Scathing rebuke to the editors of the Monthly Review, who criticized his findings on the nature of heat, published in "The Transactions of the Royal Society of London for the Year 1805;" Rumford asserts his lack of knowledge of John Leslie's experiments with heat, at the time of his own experiments, specifically "the nature of heat, it's mode of communication....experiments on the cooling of hot water," and provides specific proof.
