This is a collection of interviews conducted mainly by John Eilerstein in conjunction with the Suffolk County Maritime Folklife Collection. The interviews focus on people engaged in the fishing business, and there is a good deal of overlap in who is interviewed in this collection and materials from the East Hampton Town Baymen's Association Collection, along with the Men's Lives Collection. Adelaide de Menil, who was one of the key forces behind the Men's Lives/Long Island Fisherman Project Oral History Collection, was also involved in this project.
